Well Hello there fellow people of the bloggersphere! It feels like ages since I've posted, although it was only yesterday! I thought this post would be a little mish-mash of updates, with my new autumn/winter wishlists thrown in too! Also, before I forget, it's my blogs one month birthday today! Happy birthday Funfair's and Fairy dust!
It's September, which can only mean one thing; school has started! *A chorus of mumbling and grumbling* Yup, I know. Waking up feeling like weights are hanging from your eyelids, missing the bus when it's raining and forgetting your work. We've all been there. But what we don't stop to think about is what's great about going back to school. My favourite thing is being back in a routine again, in the summer, well, lazy days are great but you haven't really had a purpose or done anything really other than lounge around all day. But going to back to school means you can start afresh, see your old friends and make new ones. If I'm honest, I'm very much a goody-two-shoes at school, but if you got in the teacher's bad books last year...it's the perfect opportunity to flip that around! And of course, there's the stationary shopping. I don't know anybody who doesn't love a good bit of back to school shopping, even if by July you only have a pencil and pen left in the bottom of your bag!
Now there's me rambling on once again, I think we should get to the bit you actually want to see! So, with Autumn fast approaching, I'm afraid we can no longer prance about in our pretty little summer dresses and denim shorts. No, they must be put carefully away ahead of next year! But what it does mean is that we can snuggle up in cosy jumpers and not worry about hairy legs! Hooray! So I've been scouring the web over the last couple of weeks and I thought I would show you a couple of the pieces I'm absolutely loving!!
Jumper - H&M
Boots - New Look
Cardigan - H&M
'Joni' Jeans - Topshop
Checked Shirt - H&M
Parka Jacket - H&M
Firstly, I fell in love with this jumper because it is so versatile-it could be dressed up a little with a statement necklace, tucked into a black skater skirt with black tights and the gorgeous black leather ankle boots. However, it could be worn more casually, slung over a pair of jeans with converse- It's fab!
Ever since last year, I've been drooling over multiple pairs of leather ankle boots, and this year I told myself I would finally treat myself (aka dad will) to a pair. I love these. At £60 they are a little pricey, but they're real leather so they should last ages! Did I mention how much I love these?
I think in winter you need a good cosy cardigan that goes with everything. When I first spotted this, I liked it in green, but I decided grey can be worn with anything
and you can always 'jazz' it up a bit with accessories! It's perfect for cosying up or just everyday wear, so this is certainly one of my most-wanted items!
'Joni' jeans have been raved about again and again all over the web, so when I'm next in Topshop I am planning on trying a pair of these beauties on! Normally I would buy them online, but is it just me or is the Topshop jean sizing the most confusing thing in the world?!?!
Onto the checked shirt. I love a good checked shirt, you feel slightly cow-girly but because you're wearing a shirt you also feel somewhat sophisticated. But, unfortunately for me I have been blessed (aka cursed) with the big elbow gene. Yup, don't laugh, it's true. i find long sleeve shirts an utter pain to fit over my abnormally large elbows comfortably. But with a checked shirt, going a couple of sizes bigger to get the oversized look looks even better in my opinion.
last but not least, is the winter coat I've been lusting over for a while. On twitter in particular, everybody has been talking about winter coats-and I've been joining in because everybody needs a good cosy coat! Parka coats were 'the big thing' last year. and rightly so! They're practical, cosy, warm and look fabulous! This one from H&M may be pretty pricey at £49.99 but I think it will last me throughout the chilly months, and my mum said she likes it too, so hopefully that will persuade my dad into buying it for me! yay!
Well that post turned out to be longer than expected! That's it for now, but my wish list is ever-expanding, so if you liked this post be sure to let me know and I'll do a similar one in the near-future!
Much Love, Lauryn x
