Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation review

Hello fellow people of the bloggosphere! It's Saturday, which can only mean one thing; it's post day! So, I know you're probably fed up on seeing countless reviews of this product, but I hope you stay for a while and read my post, if you've not yet tried this product I insist you do so, and if you already own it? Then read on and see if you agree with me! P.S...This post will probably be filled with jokes that I only find funny myself, a ramble is also guaranteed and as is lots of repetition of the word 'love'!

You might think that I am seriously late hopping aboard the bandwagon, as it has been a cult blogger product for ages now, but I've been using this foundation for a few months now so I've finally decided that I can give you an honest and accurate review!

I picked this up in Boots for £8.99, and whilst it's not the cheapest high-street foundation, it's far from the priciest! Rimmel are known for their high quality but low priced products, and this product is no exception. The foundation actually comes in a glass bottle with a pump. Although I tend to find a pump easier sometimes, I still do like tube foundations (I'm a bit of a scrimper and cut the tube open to get my moneys worth!). However, the glass bottle adds a bit of luxury and the pump means you get the right amount each time!

Rimmel claim this foundation "visibly reawakens skin with a radiant glow and flawless natural looking finish." Now Rimmel have claimed a lot here, as we have instant high expectations  Many bloggers have commented on the 'shimmer'. I must admit that in the bottle it looks a lot like a glittery disco ball, but once applied to the face its barely visible, if only a tiny bit in strong artificial light. many bloggers have even gone as far as to complain about this, but for me it's no problem, as I think its one of the main factors to help create the "radiant glow" Rimmel claim the foundation achieves. So don't panic, as shimmery as it looks in the bottle I promise you won't go out looking like a glittery vampire, unless you're trying out that look.

The foundation is light to medium coverage in my opinion, but I've also found this is buildable if you're having one of those poorly skin days. I've applied this foundation with both a foundation brush as well as my fingers, but either way works just as well for me! It has a slightly creamy texture, but it doesn't feel heavy on your skin, nor does it cling to dry patches which is an added bonus!

This foundation is also fairly long lasting-but if you want it to last that little bit longer I suggest you dabble a little powder over the top.

So to put it into a couple of words, I really do love this foundation. It lasts forever, it had a medium coverage and best of all? It does live up to its claims! Well done Rimmel, you've got it spot on once again!

Much love, Lauryn x
