Superdrug Detoxifying Deep Sea Mud Mask Review

At least once a week, I like to have a bit of a pamper; relax in a bubble bath with a good book whilst wearing a facemask! Not only is this one of the most de-stressing things, facemasks are a girls best friend! (Hm, well alongside the shoes, make up and nails). These past couple of weeks I have been breaking out a little more than I usually do. Whether this is simply teenage hormones or something else entirely, I'm not too sure. Due to this little inconvenience, I picked up this face mask in Superdrug last week. What intrigued me most about this product was the fact it is a clay/mud mask. Clay masks, in particular the Origins one (which I *sadly* cannot afford) have been discussed to no end recently in the bloggosphere. I have tried a few of the Superdrug own facemasks before and I have never been disappointed so I went ahead and bought this one-for.

You are advised to leave this facemask on for 10-15 minutes however I tend to leave it on until it is fully dry. I like to apply a thick layer because it feels more invigorating so it takes about 45 minutes to dry completely, so maybe this face mask isn't for you if you're a kind of slap-on and go person!

I chose the tube over the separate little 10ml packets as its less messy and you can use however much you want. The tube is 75ml so considering the individual packets cost 99p each, you would have to spend £7.50 for the equivalent in little packets!

As for the smell, I think it will be a marmite thing - you either love it or hate it. Personally, I love the smell. It smells quite sea-weedy but really fresh.

When I first apply this mask it tingles which some people may take as a bad sign but I just see it as its doing something! The tingling-sensation soon calms down and the mask is in fact very soothing. After washing it off, my face was (excuse the cliché) as soft as a babies bottom! Not only this, but my sore devil-ish 'under the skin' spots were much less painful and obvious - so it was certainly a win-win situation all round!

All in all, for just under £3 you simply cannot go wrong with this product. It does exactly what it claims to do and more, which just shows some of the best products do not have a fancy name or fancy packaging!

You can buy this product here.

Much love, Lauryn x
