The key to perfecting nail art? Nail tattoos by Fake Tattoos*

Ever since I was younger painting my nails meant sitting down and having some mother-daughter time. Even if this is less common nowadays, I will always have fond memories whenever I paint my nails - even if my choice of colour may have changed from garish barbie pinks (obtained off the cover of the latest issue of girl talk magazine!) to more sophisticated hues!

So being a big fan of anything nail product related, when Ana from Fake Tattoos sent me an email regrading trying out some of their products I couldn't have typed yes fast enough. However, I told her in my email that I I would love to collaborate with the company, although as I am only 14 I think that the 'Nail Tattoos' that they sell are more appropriate for my blog as I feel that a nail tattoo is much more appropriate for the majority of my readers' age group. (Woah that was a bit of a mouthful!)

It made a lovely surprise coming home from a tedious day at school to find a package with my name on it-I mean who wouldn't be cheered up by those adorable little fish and ice creams?! I danced around the living room and gave my eight year old brother a hug (he wasn't too impressed mind you) and safely put the envelope on my pinboard ready to try out.

I decided reminisce of summer and paint my nails a pretty coral colour and apply the summery themed nail tattoos. The nail stickers are small, convenient and oh-so-simple to apply. Simply open up the packet, cut out your desired 'tattoo', peel off the plastic and place over your nail(s!). Applying the tattoos is rather reminiscent of those chalky stick sweets that came with the spiderman 'tattoos' from when I was younger haha. Next you simply have to apply a damp cloth over the top for about 30 seconds, peel away, apply a clear top coat and TA-DA!

Overall, the nail tattoos were incredibly easy to apply, they looked effective and they lasted fairly well. However, I also tested them out without using a clear top coat and they smudged within 2 hours and I had to remove them. So DO use a high-quality top coat or you will be *sadly* wasting some pretty tattoos!

Fake Tattoos also sell a range of body tattoos as well as nail tattoos which if you aren't willing to make the risk of getting permanently inked you can test out a temporary tattoo first! They sell some very unique and pretty designs so I would highly recommend you take a look and maybe make an order - I will certainly be doing so!

    1. These lasted well for about 5 days and then after that they started to fade etc. Its hard to not pick them off but just apply a good top coat and you should be good to go:)
